Online Course “Successful Networking as a Scientist” // 7 Dec 2020

Course offer by the Graduate Center: For all (post-)doctoral researchers who are interested in answers to the questions: How to build up a network? What do I want a network for? What can I offer my network? How do I maintain and intensify my network? Where are the people I am looking for?, this short workshop might be helpful.

Who is the course for? Doctoral researchers registered at the BCP department, Postdoctoral researchers at the BCP department

When?                             Monday, 7 December 2020, 9 am – 12.30 pm

Where?                            Webex Online Course (Please note that a video camera and a microphone are necessary for this course.)

Registration:                   If you would like to attend the course, please register with your affiliation (FU email address, working group, status) via graduate-center@bcp.fu-berlin.de by 15 November 2020. The registration is binding. Participation in the course is free of charge for all (post-)doctoral researchers at the BCP department. Please note the number of participants is limited.

Call for Workshop Topics

In order to adapt the course offer of the Graduate Center to your wishes and needs as much as possible, I would like to ask for your suggestions for desired topics twice a year. Here is the first call:

You have two options:

A) You can send me one or more topics you are interested in, or

B) You choose a topic from my suggestions.

Suggestions:

1. Scientific writing in STEM-subjects (en/dt)
2. Successful publishing of scientific results in scientific journals (STEM-subjects) (en/dt)
3. Grant proposal writing (en)
4. Project management (en/dt)

For option A: If there are enough interested people, a course/workshop on the topic will be organized, if not, the topics will be proposed again in the next call.

For option B: If there are more than 15 interested people for a specific topic from my suggestions, a course/workshop on this topic will be organized.

Please send me either your topic suggestions or the desired topic from my suggestions by 30 November. I am looking forward to your replies!

Please note that due to the current situation (Corona pandemic) all courses are planned as online events.

Did you know that the name for the department should be written on the thesis as follows: Department of Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy?

Although it contains a list of the institutes, no "and" is used.

Wussten Sie schon, dass auf der Dissertation der Name für den Fachbereich wie folgt stehen sollte: Fachbereich Biologie, Chemie, Pharmazie?

Obwohl die Bezeichnung eine Aufzählung der einzelnen Institute beinhaltet, wird hier kein "und" verwendet.

Please confirm your status as soon as possible to receive your time budget for the new academic year. Unsure? Siebtes SeedCamp “Life Sciences” am 30.11., 2.12. und 4.12.2020

Werden Sie zum Unternehmer und lernen Sie von Experten und Insidern aus der Welt der StartUps!

Sie sind Student/-in oder Wissenschaftler/-in in den Lebenswissenschaften und haben bereits mit dem Gedanken gespielt ein Unternehmen zu gründen? Sie wollen sich über die wesentlichen Herausforderungen, Chancen und Fallstricke einer Unternehmensgründung informieren? Sie wollen von renommierten Experten, Trainern und erfolgreichen Unternehmern einen Einblick in die Welt der Start-Ups erhalten und Ihre Motivation und Befähigung zum Gründen überprüfen?

Das innovative Format dient in erster Linie der praxisorientierten Wissensvermittlung für gründungsinteressierte Wissenschaftler aus dem Bereich der Lebenswissenschaften aus Berlin und Brandenburg. Bedingt durch die Pandemie wird das SeedCamp in diesem Jahr als digitales Format mit einem verkürzten Programm durchgeführt. An drei Tagen mit jeweils zwei Vorträgen und A&Q-Sessions erhalten Sie Einblicke in verschiedene Aspekte der Gründung eines Unternehmens. Im Fokus stehen dieses Mal Vorträge zu den Themen Vermarktung, Patentierung und Finanzierung. Diese didaktischen Vorträge werden mit den Erfahrungsberichten von zwei Gründern und einer Session, wie man sich richtig präsentiert, abgerundet.

Das SeedCamp startet am 30.11 um 9:45 mit einer kurzen Begrüßung und endet um 12 Uhr.  Am 2.12. und am 4.12. starten wir jeweils um 10 Uhr bis 12 Uhr.  Nähere Informationen sowie die Zugangsdaten erhalten Sie nach Ihrer Anmeldung unter seedcamp@berlin-partner.de.
