Workshop Gender and diversity-conscious teaching in science // Sep 30, 2024

 

The workshop is geared towards the subject-specific needs of the natural sciences and is intended to promote interactions and suggestions for reflection of your own teaching. Participants will receive practical tips and thematic information on how to deal with gender and diversity, such as how to shape the culture of discussion and learning or how to explicitly address unequal participation and discussion behavior.

 

The workshop will take place on Monday, September 30, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in the seminar room A.006 at Arnimallee 22. Your trainer is Dr. Jana Gerlach, staff member of "Toolbox Gender and Diversity in Teaching". The workshop is held in English and is aimed at members of the BCP department. The workshop's main goal is to equip you with essential R skills for analyzing your own research data, covering data processing and visualization.

In addition to the inspiring talks and enriching workshops, this year's Postdoc Day features a special Academic Career session. Moreover, we are excited to host a career fair, where numerous companies will set up booths. This provides an excellent opportunity for participants to network with industry professionals and explore potential career opportunities.

 

Call for Abstracts

We encourage all participants to submit abstracts for a chance to present your research at Postdoc Day. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain visibility, share your insights, and receive valuable feedback from your peers and senior researchers. And of course, there are prizes!

Interdisciplinary Conference for Early Career Researchers

Under the motto "Creative and Credible!", this year's event is all about creativity in research and science.

The agenda will cover a number of highly fascinating and relevant topics for the early-career researchers to which it is tailored. This will include the examination of overarching subjects:

  • What role does creativity play in science and knowledge production 
  • How are creativity and innovation linked 
  • How can we make our creative science credible and rigorous 
  • Is creativity in science encourage or discouraged
  • What are some tools which enrich science with creativity?
