Jana studied biochemistry at the FU Berlin. Afterwards she went to the group of Prof. Kräusllich at the University of Heidelberg to do her PhD in structural virology titled “HIV-1 capsid assembly and its inhibition”. Jana joined the group as PostDoc in December 2005 and has been working on the mechanism of MHC class II peptide presentation mainly by using NMR spectroscopy.
