Summer party at the department BCP
Short Lectures, Award for Good Teaching and Summer Party – every year the Department of Biology, Chemistry and Pharmacy hosts a summer event for all its students, faculty and staff of the department.
Newly appointed members of the department will introduce themselves with short lectures, the student representatives will award prizes for good teaching and there will be plenty of food and drinks.
OC Café
The student representatives of the Institute of Chemistry organize a café with affordable prices for drinks and snacks.
This space invites students to socialize in a relaxed atmosphere, study in a café setting or recharge between classes. Furthermore, the student representatives host regular meetings with students from the institute, organize events and engage in university politics.
Colloquiums
The Institute of Chemistry and Biochemistry regularly invites lecturers and speakers from different institutions and universities for different colloquiums - for example in Physical Chemistry and Theoretical Chemistry and Anorganic and Organic Chemistry as well as for the GdCh Colloquium in collaboration with the german Chemical Society.

University Sports
Freie Universität offers a wide selection of affordable sports courses for students and employees. Whether it's a dance course, relaxation workshop or catamaran sailing on Rügen, we can fulfill your leisure wishes!
The Dahlem campus offers several oppurtunities to include sport in your day at university like going to the outdoor gym near Dahlem Dorf or joining an instructed sports course in the building for Inorganic Chemistry (Fabeckstr. 34-36).
Sustainability Projects
SUSTAIN IT! is an open action and participation group for everyone who wants to shape Freie Universität and Berlin with their own ideas and projects in a sustainable and future-oriented way.
The initiative SUSTAIN IT! joins the forces of students, doctorate candidates, professors, research assistants, artists and cultural workers, environmental activists and young and old professionals from the university and urban society. Participants from all disciplines are welcome.
Projects of SUSTAIN IT! include UniGardening, FUd-sharing and the open-air learning and teaching space Blätterlaube.
Canteens and Cafeterias
There are four canteens situated on the Dahlem campus, including the only canteen in Berlin specializing in Japanese cuisine.
Additionally, two of those canteens offer the convenience of ordering food for pick-up regardless of their opening hours and a possibility of reheating the ordered meal.

Campus Run
Every summer Freie Universität Berlin hosts a summer party for all students and employees. A large stage with live music and a broad supporting program will ensure excellent entertainment through the evening. Enjoy various kinds of foods and drinks at the stands provided in the court yard.
Simultaneously the Campus Run offers an athletic challenge for those willing to participate: run 5 km, 7,5 km or 10 km individually or in a team and win amazing prizes.
Participants with a costume have the chance of winning an extra surprise.
Community bike workshop
FUrad is a volunteer based bicycle DIY workshop at Freie Universität. Volunteers meet to build up a general knowledge about bike repair, to have fun trying things out, and – almost most importantly – help and support people with bike worries.
The rooms of FUrad offer tools, spare parts and everything you need to fix your bike. You don't need experience – there is always a friendly volunteer willing to share their knowledge so you can get your bike rolling again.
CampusKino
The CampusKino initiative organizes film screenings in lecture halls of Freie Universität Berlin. From all-time favorites to recent productions, CampusKino provides entertaining movies during the semester in a two-week interval for a small entrance fee (1-2 €).
