Research interests

My interest lies in the role of variability in cortex. Is the large
response variability observed on all scales in physiological data a
nuisance or part of the code? I.e. does the brain work because of the
variability or despite the noise? I analyse cortical recordings using
spike train statistics and machine learning methods as well as
simulations to investigate this question.
